This man is serious. And we should be too. Recently, I have been gradually reducing my consumption is all areas, even apparel. It's overwhelming to consider the amount of waste and consumption in America. This is why I am a huge advocate of thrifting, cooking, biking, and most things that save time, money, and the earth. Most decisions we make actually impact our environment. Please think about that the next time you drive somewhere, purchase something, or dispose of trash.

here are 6 great ways to conserve money and contribute to sustainable merchandise.

TOMS. For every pair you purchase, Toms gives a pair to a child in need. 

These pair yielded two shoes to two children.

Save your jars and make awesome canisters to hold nuts, grains, beans, sugar, flour- anything.

Tins shouldn't go to waste either. Find a use for them. Pen holder, cotton ball/q-tips holder, keys, change. It adds some character. Very vintage.

Tired of paying $3 for herbs and wasting half before you can use them. I was. For 2-3 dollars an herb, you can create a small herb garden inside or outside. It was actually very easy. My basil died 3 times before I mastered it (a local  gardener gave me some tips), but I was persistent. I love basil. Other than that- Simple.

Every week we care for our homes. But how often do we care for the earth? While it's simple, and at times,  more cost efficient, we continue to consume and waste sinful amounts of material. I believe it's my duty as a Christian and inhabiter of this land to preserve and protect it.  This week I will be posting ideas to conserve in various areas of life. 

    "Going Green" has become a trend- I despise trends. Don't make it a trend, make it a lifestyle.
